Core stability is the balance and co-ordination of the muscles of the trunk to ensure that the peripheral limbs have a stable base to work off. Training this area can promote muscular efficiency which can prevent injuries as well as reducing injury recurrence. Pilates or core stability training is also successfully used in the management of long term back and neck pain.

At our clinic, we have opened a pilates studio. We run matt classes from beginner to advanced levels, as well as semi-private and private studio classes. Studio classes are based on individually designed programs and carried out on our pilates equipment. Each program is formatted following your initial assessment with our pilates physiotherapist Sarah McLachlan. You will also need to be screened prior to starting any of our matt classes in order to ensure you understand the basics and know what to avoid if you have any injuries.

If you are interested contact our clinic for more information on class times and screening availability.
